American Imperialism

Wikipedia states: "While the Monroe Doctrine had warned European powers to keep their hands off countries in the Americas, President Roosevelt was now saying that "since the United States would not permit the [European] powers to lay their hands on, he had an obligation to do so himself. In short, he would intervene to keep them from intervening."

Was Roosevelt acting from a REALISTIC OR IDEALISTIC perspective?

  1. I say he was looking at it from a realistic perspective because he had already seen previous failures on the Caribbean by Woodrow Wilson

  3. Is "americas" suppose to be "america(n)s?"

Sergio Ruelas, i disagree with you. I think Teddy Roosevelt was looking from a idealistic perspective. Teddy Roosevelt did not make peace with the other country. He was against it, thats why he wanted to prevent the other country from preventing.
