This, the last blog of the year, will ask you to describe your experience in our class. Make references to specific lessons, assignments, projects, test. 100 words=15 points, DUE MAY 16.
The year was great and fun. I am not an organized person so it's hard for me to keep up, but I liked some of the projects this year. My favorite things about this year were the video projects (even though I am not techy) and the assignments when you have to draw and write about the topic you chose. I really liked the projects like pamphlets and maps. I like to draw and express my creativity. The one thing I didn't like was boring homework. I don't like to read and answer questions. I know that's how we learn things, but i like to draw or make projects more. I like projects that are hands-on. I know we should have homework but maybe some of it should be maps, charts, books....things that express our creativity and learning in one. I think we should have field trips (even though i know money is a problem with the school). I really do enjoy history even though i'm not doing as well as I should. I liked the class and learned a lot. Thanks Mrs. King. Brandon Jones
My experience in the class was kind of mixed. I did learn a lot of things this year, but my table was usually gone for most of the year so I didn't always understand what was going on or I couldn't have discussions about what we were learning. I learned to use cognitive strategies and had to work really hard to keep an A in the class. Our first final (the written test) was really hard for me, but I had a good time making the video part. I liked having a notebook because I could look back on past lessons without having to dig through a binder to find things. It also kept me organized. I liked being able to hear current events because I thought they were interesting and I like hearing about what is going on around America.
In your United States History class, the way things were explained to the students was in an excellent matter. It made it easy for us to identify what the requirements were for us to fulfill our necessities to complete the assignments that were given to us in our notebook. By far i believe that the videos and movies that were viewed during the class session were the best and most fun way of learning about the unique topics that needed to be covered. It was a different way of looking at things. It was something that was exciting to watch. The film "Forrest Gump" was my favorite video that I have watched in the United States History class because it was so long and entertaining with the events that went on in the story.
This blog is a creative way to have an academic conversation regarding the content that is covered in class. I hope that you use this opportunity to express your opinions in an appropriate way. Happy Blogging.
