How do you prepare to take an exam? Which study skills do you possess and how many hours do you tend to study for exams such as quizzes, presentations, finals, and state test?
When a test is added to my schedule, I make sure to study little by little ahead of time. By trying to study all in one night is almost impossible to remember all of the information. I try to get a good nights rest, and eat a good breakfast the morning of the test. For a quiz I may study a total of one hour. A presentation maybe not so long. State testing I do not study at all, and for finals I try to study at least three hours. Some good study skills that work for me would be: Study in a quiet and comfortable environment. Make sure to take breaks from studying. Make sure to stay relaxed, and focused.
When a big test is set for a specific date in a class, I get all of my materials together and review important events that occurred. I look at a little bit each night to cover the topics over multiple days because we are given the instructions for the test a few days in advance. This is a great way to study for a test because it prevents it from being overwhelming and is less stressful than waiting until the last minute to crack open the books.
I sit down a few days in advance, take deep breaths and then I go over the material. I am a visual person so I have to see what I am studying for. I remember what I see better than what I hear. Depending on the test, I study from an hour to maybe three. I don't study for the STAR tests because I figure I either know it or I don't. When I review for a test it helps me a lot. Waiting until the last minute stresses me out. Brandon Jones
When a teacher lets the class know ahead of time that there is going to be a test, it really helps because it gives us time to study. When knowing a few days in advance it gives me time to study a little bit everyday. If I know what the test is going to be on I get all my things from that specific section so I don't go on to study other stuff. Even though I study the days before, I like to study a little more on the day before, just so I remember everything. I think its important to space all your studying out so you're not trying to do everything all in one day.
This blog is a creative way to have an academic conversation regarding the content that is covered in class. I hope that you use this opportunity to express your opinions in an appropriate way. Happy Blogging.
